Jessica Maehler is the band director at Fontainebleau High School. She previously served as assistant band director at Slidell High School and music teacher at Mandeville Elementary School. She also completed her student teaching at Dutchtown High School and has taught several high school band camps throughout Louisiana.

Mrs. Maehler earned her bachelor’s degree in music education from Louisiana State University, where she served as clarinet section leader in Tiger Band and performed with the Wind Ensemble, Symphonic Winds, Bengal Brass, and other ensembles.

She earned her master’s degree in music education from Northwestern State University. While at NSU, she served as drum major of the Spirit of Northwestern Marching Band, conducted the Wind Symphony and Wind Ensemble, and assisted with leadership, conducting, and concert band classes.

A proud Fontainebleau High School alumna, Mrs. Maehler is excited to return home and lead the FHS band program.

Ethan Chilton graduated from Louisiana State University in 2025 with a bachelor’s degree in music education. During his time at LSU, he performed in concert ensembles and chamber groups and was a member of the Bengal Brass and Tiger Band for four years.

As part of his teacher preparation, Mr. Chilton completed his student teaching with the Dutchtown High School band program, including participation in its summer band camp. He previously taught general music to pre-kindergarten and kindergarten students in the Zachary School District.

Mr. Chilton is excited to join FHS and contribute his experience as both a music educator and performer.
